In recent years, I have completed a number of private commissions, mainly focusing on pets and landscapes. I understand how personal these pieces can be. My aim is always to create something that feels familiar and true to the subject, while still reflecting my own style.
The process usually begins with a conversation about what you’re looking for, along with reference photographs where needed. From there, I work to capture the character, light and atmosphere that make the subject unique. Examples of previous commissions can be viewed in the Gallery section.

I am a largely self-taught artist based in Devon and a member of North Devon Arts. After some time away, I returned to painting in recent years and have enjoyed reconnecting with the process. Each painting brings its own challenges, and I see every piece as part of an ongoing learning experience.
I work mainly in acrylics and oils, inspired by the landscapes, seascapes and skies around me. While my work is based on what I see, I’m not aiming to create an exact copy of a scene. Instead, I try to capture the feeling of a place — its light, colour and character.
I’m particularly drawn to the natural variations found in the world around us. Nature is rarely uniform, whether in shape or tone, and I aim to reflect that honesty in my paintings. Water is a subject I return to often, as I enjoy exploring both its movement and its calm.
